5.1 Overview
To reduce friction and duplication during identity verification, Prive may participate in a reusable identity verification framework ("Reusable KYC"). Reusable KYC allows identity verification data previously submitted by a user to be reused for verification purposes, subject to applicable law, user authorization, and technical compatibility.
5.2 How Reusable KYC Works
Depending on the circumstances:
- Prive may share certain identity verification data previously provided by you with another authorized organization, where you have requested or authorized such sharing; or
- Prive may receive identity verification data relating to you from another authorized organization, where you have requested or consented to such reuse.
All Reusable KYC data transfers are conducted through secure technical systems operated by our identity verification service provider.
5.3 Data Controller Roles
When Reusable KYC is used:
- Prive acts as an independent data controller for personal data it processes;
- Any third-party organization participating in Reusable KYC acts as an independent data controller for its own processing activities;
- Our identity verification service provider acts as a data processor, processing personal data only on Prive's documented instructions.
Prive does not control and is not responsible for how third-party organisations use personal data once transferred to them.
5.4 Legal Basis for Reusable KYC
Reusable KYC processing may rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Your consent, including consent to data portability or reuse of verification data;
- Performance of a contract, where verification is required to provide services you request;

- Legitimate interests, such as fraud prevention and reducing repeated verification steps, where permitted by law.

Reusable KYC may involve the transfer of identity-related data, including:

- Identity document information (e.g., document type, issuing authority, expiry date);
- Verification results (e.g., liveness checks, verification status);

Prive does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or suitability of identity data received from third parties and may require additional verification.

Where required by law or technical implementation:
- You may be required to actively request or authorize the reuse or transfer of your identity verification data;
- You may submit data portability requests allowing previously submitted identity data to be reused for verification with another organization.
In certain cases, identity data may be reused without real-time interaction where permitted by law, provided Prive has a valid legal basis to do so.
